Preventative treatments

Preventative treatments

If you are getting more than 4 migraines a month then it may be useful for you to take some preventative medication that your doctor can prescribe. This will help to reduce the pain from your headaches and the amount of attacks you get. Sometimes they do not always work straight away and may take 3 - 6 months to work well.

This type of treatment will not stop your headaches entirely so you may need to take some other medicine when you have a migraine attack. Your doctor will recommend what is best for you.
